I will never forget today as I achieved one of my biggest dream. I got a nice mail announcing me that I was nominated as a Microsoft Regional Director for Belgium, starting in April 2017!
I am delighted to welcome you to the Microsoft Regional Director Program! Your nomination has been accepted and I am looking forward to you joining this worldwide community of unparalleled technology thought leaders. Our Western Europe field team is also excited to have such an outstanding individual working with them to better understand and engage the Western Europe Community.
My mission at Neoxy (my own company) is to empower every person and organization in Belgium/France to do more with the Microsoft (collaboration) cloud (Office365 + Azure) and the ecosystem is perfectly aligned to accelerate this. Creativity, automation and perspectives is what I love most about when using the Microsoft cloud, so every customer can be more agile, responsive and competitive.
My dream is not only empowered customers by technology but also building innovative, intelligent and responsive cloud driven solutions. Knowing that Microsoft has faith in me (MVP + MCT + RL) and my knowledge to help make better decisions about the Microsoft tools and the ecosystem is an honor in itself. But, expanding my knowledge and continuing to share my insights and direction with added knowledge from the Regional Directors program is a dream coming true.
I’m a regular speaker at USA conferences like (SharePoint Fest Seattle, Denver, DC or Chicago), SP Engage Phoenix, SharePoint Saturday NYC. But my main activities are still in Europe: SharePoint Saturday Paris, Monaco, Belgium, Madrid, London, Oslo, Warsaw, … European SharePoint Conference, Tuga IT or the PowerShell Summit Asia… To give you a concrete example: last year I’ve been traveling to 25 different countries (32 speaking engagements in total) to share my love about SharePoint and Office365 and evangelize the Microsoft cloud to IT professionals and Business Users. I was also invited to an ODSP Panel (Thanks Jeff Teper) with the whole Office Server and Services PG (+/- 800 attendees) to give feedback about SharePoint, SharePoint Online and OneDrive.
Why do I share all this? Because you can not apply to become an RD. Individuals invited to the program are usually identified by the local DX. The candidate is usually well-known in the geography, and has earned the respect of his/her peers. So hopefully this will help you understand the way of becoming an RD.
I am super humbled, honored and excited to start my activities as a Microsoft RD, but am still proud to be a SharePoint MVP.
